Our time-lapse camera systems are not only developed in-house, but also produced directly using 3D printing if required. This enables maximum precision, individual customisation and a quick response to new requirements. For larger quantities, we work with experienced printing service providers so that we remain flexible in terms of scaling. Each camera system can be tailored precisely to the desired dimensions. panTerra has developed the entire control unit – from hardware to software – in-house. This gives us full control over the performance, reliability and functionality of our camera systems. For image capture, we exclusively use high-end cameras from brands such as Canon, Sony and Fujifilm with full-frame sensors and medium-format sensors in DSLR or DSLM technology. Our software controls the systems precisely and offers numerous fallback mechanisms, including hardware watchdog and customisable interfaces. The result is maximum reliability, highest image quality and full flexibility when integrating additional camera types.

Individually selectable viewing angle – from telephoto to ultra-wide

Our camera systems offer you maximum flexibility in image composition. Thanks to professional system cameras, we can tailor the image section precisely to your project – from ultra-wide angle with a field of view of up to 170° to a precise telephoto lens with a focal length of 200 mm. While many providers only work with a fixed 95° wide angle, we start where others end. By using interchangeable lenses, we can precisely adapt the image section to your requirements and the conditions on site. This allows us to achieve maximum design freedom and optimal results.

By using high-quality premium lenses, we minimise optical distortion, prevent chromatic aberrations and guarantee consistently high image quality, even at the edges. Access is possible at any time and from any device – whether you are in the office, on the construction site or travelling worldwide.

With the integrated time-lapse generator, you can create impressive time-lapse films directly in your browser – ideal for project presentations, internal reporting or marketing purposes. No additional software or app download is required; our online portal can be accessed from any internet browser. Before the project starts, our data protection experts check each project individually for possible personal content. In addition, particularly sensitive image areas can be permanently masked. Even after the project has started, we keep an eye on data protection: new camera perspectives or changed conditions are automatically re-evaluated. Our compact camera system for time-lapse photography impresses with its sophisticated design and ease of use. Measuring 23 × 20 × 30 cm, the housing is barely larger than a shoebox, yet extremely lightweight, robust, and optimized for long-term outdoor use. The weatherproof design channels rainwater away, while an integrated sun canopy provides additional protection from heat and moisture.

Installation is plug-and-play: a single power cable is all that is needed, and no prior knowledge is required. Even laypeople can have the system up and running in no time. As a full-service provider, we will of course also assist you with installation if you wish, no matter how specific your requirements are. “Can’t be done” is not in our vocabulary: our systems are in use worldwide and have already been installed under a wide variety of conditions – from high-rise buildings and bridges to infrastructure projects that are difficult to access.

What sounds like a cheap alternative at first glance quickly proves to be inadequate in practice.
Classic 4K surveillance cameras were designed for security applications, not for the precise, aesthetic, and long-term stable documentation of construction projects.

Despite their high resolution, they only deliver limited image quality because they use small sensors and inexpensive optics. As a result, fine details are often lost, especially when zooming or editing. Difficult lighting conditions such as backlighting, strong contrasts, or shadow areas also pose a problem. Without a high-quality dynamic range, bright areas of the image burn out or dark areas sink into black.

In addition, surveillance cameras do not allow manual settings for aperture, exposure time, and focus. Everything is controlled automatically, which is often not optimal. This is insufficient for professional, promotional, or technical use.

In short: a security camera is designed for motion detection and burglary detection, but not for creating impressive images that can be used to document construction progress in a visible, comprehensible, and visually convincing way.
